A microbial biostimulant is a microorganism (or a combination of microorganisms) that stimulates natural processes in plants, seeds, or the rhizosphere to improve nutrient uptake, abiotic stress tolerance, nutrient efficiency, production and crop quality. Microbial biostimulants are the newest type of agricultural input, yet they are also the least well-known among farmers.
