Microarrays have a broad range of applications and have found rising utilization in basic molecular biology, pharmaceutical target screening, toxicological response profiling and biomarker identification. Microarrays are an appealing platform for highly parallel and high-throughput genotyping applications in plant genetics and crop enhancement. Progress in conventional plant breeding depends on screening and selecting for a range of phenotypic traits in large, separating populations.
