MY WIFE IS A CHEESE

A playful and romantic poem from The Sun Burned Bright and Hot, My Wife Is a Cheese blends humor and love, comparing a marriage to the perfect cheese and baguette pairing. Percuoco’s witty and heartfelt storytelling makes this poem a delightful read.

My Wife Is a Cheese is one of the most delightful poems from Ronald Percuoco’s inaugural book of poetry, The Sun Burned Bright And Hot.
In this poem, a husband tells the story of how his wife melts herself over his eyes and nose and lips. He tells us that she is the cheese, and he is the baguette and that together they make a fantastic cheese sandwich. He states that the kind of cheese doesn’t matter Brie---- Gruyere --Camembert. His wife is sweet amorous and very, very savory.

The poem also takes us inside their personal bedroom where every Sunday
they enjoy a beautiful picnic with wine and cheese. In his heart his wife writes
the menu of the day of their life. And with love she calls him “Mon Cheri” and
wishes him a “BON APPETIT”.

Drawing from his journey as a mental health counselor, Ronald Percuoco’s work is enriched with a profound understanding of human emotions. His experience working with diverse communities from New York to California, lends his poetry an inspiring blend of humor, introspection and empathy.

Percuoco is especially proud of this poem because he wrote it in French first
as Ma Femme Est Un Fromage and later translated it into English.  Also, the last two stanzas rhyme in French. When he writes in French, Percuoco uses the French pen name, Jean Michel Robaire.

Ronald Percuoco writes with both humor and seriousness in a way that invites
you to discover the beauty and the wonder in ordinary life. The Sun Burned Bright and Hot is more than a collection of poems. It is an exploration of all the experiences and emotions that make us human. Those that make us laugh.
Those that make us cry. Those that make us smile and those that make us sigh.     Come for the journey and bring a loved one.

The Sun Burned Bright and Hot is available on the author’s website and on Amazon.
