Sprunki 1996

Sprunki 1996 has developed its own fan-created lore. A popular alternate universe called the "Music and Dance Maker 96 AU" imagines Sprunki 1996 as a piece of forgotten '90s educational software. In this AU, characters like Mr. Brak (a surreal, big-headed instructor) and Lord Temputer (a digital metronome lord) guide players through the music-making process. Fans have created fake box art, manuals, Windows 95 splash screens, and even Amiga ports—fleshing out a rich, fictional backstory that mirrors real retro software culture.
Gameplay and Interaction
Like Incredibox, Sprunki 1996 revolves around drag-and-drop interaction. Players choose sound types—beats, melodies, effects, vocals—and drop them onto characters to trigger loops. The challenge (and fun) lies in combining the loops in ways that sound musically coherent or chaotic, depending on your taste. Each loop adds a layer to the song, and once the right combination is found, a bonus animation might be triggered. In essence, Sprunki 1996 is a playground for sound experimentation with no “wrong” way to play.
