About the Position:
- Deliver fundamental nursing care to a diverse population of patients with complex mental illnesses, following guidance from Registered Nurses (RNs) and psychiatrists.
- Conduct thorough mental health assessments, monitor vital signs, and document progress meticulously.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, adhering to strict safety protocols.
- Provide emotional support and patient education on managing mental health conditions and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Foster a safe and secure environment for patients and staff.
- Maintain accurate and detailed clinical records.
Qualifications:
- Active LVN license in California.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a psychiatric setting preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy and building trust with patients.
- Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities, seamlessly integrating with the healthcare team.
- Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care, prioritizing individual needs and upholding dignity.
- BLS certification required.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
- Knowledge of forensic psychiatry principles a plus.
