Best Yoga Studios and Retreats in Bali 2025 Edition
I currently lived in Bali and I love it ! I wrote more than 50 articles on Bali, about many subjects in order to help you prepare your trip to the island of gods
I am myself a Yoga teacher and daily practitioner and I totally felt in love with Bali ! So many opportunities in terms of Yoga classes style, workshops, retreats, events … It is insane !
I truly think it is (one ) of the best places in the world for Yoga as firstly you won’t find as many studios anywhere in the world in such a small area ( there is like 30 or so only in Canggu ) and there is such a wide offer of classes. From Kundalini to Iyengar, to Hatha and traditional to other more modern styles as Bikram or Aerial.
Then the events are never ending. Indeed, many peoples into Yoga, consciousness, spirituality travel and move to Bali. So there is a huge community of like minded creative peoples and in Ubud for example, there is a lot of events every week! From ecstatic dance to full moon circle to workshops with world class teachers.
Then the retreats. The set up and surrounding is unbeatable. Either beach style retreats or jungle, with this amazing traditional Balinese music and vibe . Ouaaaaaaaahhhhhh ! Amazing.
You will find below a list of studios providing classes, retreats , and events or a regular basis . Make sure to make an enquiry and ask them if they have anything going on. Especially about the retreats. As this is changing.

Why Bali is so special for Yoga practice ?
Yoga enthusiasts and wellness seekers from across the globe converge on Bali because it has firmly established itself as a vibrant hotspot for health and wellness. The unparalleled opportunity to attend a yoga class led by a renowned, world-class teacher is readily available here. The island also boasts an abundance of holistic spas, offering a myriad of rejuvenating treatments, from deeply relaxing full-body massages to invigorating traditional therapies. Adding to its universal appeal, nearly every corner of the island is dotted with fantastic vegan dining establishments, catering to the growing demand for conscious and healthy eating. This ease of access to nutritious food greatly enhances the overall wellness journey, contributing to a simple life focused on well-being.
One of the most profound and unique reasons for Bali’s thriving yoga culture lies in its deeply ingrained spiritual heritage. While the majority of the Indonesian archipelago practices Islam, Bali stands out with its predominant Hindu faith. This distinct spiritual foundation imbues the island with a unique and palpable vibe, setting it apart from the rest of Indonesia. Yoga, with its intrinsic connections to Hinduism, has not only flourished but has become an integral part of the island’s identity, fostering the growth of exceptional yoga studios and world-class yoga teacher training courses. Balinese Hinduism itself is a fascinating and distinctive fusion of Shaivism and Buddhism, incorporating its own unique pantheon of gods and goddesses, and a rich tapestry of rituals and ceremonies that permeate daily life.
Want a full-body massage? There are many holistic spas available to you. Here is some good news! Nearly every area on the island has a vegan dining establishment.
Moreover, the island’s religious celebrations are exquisitely unique, often intricately linked to its majestic mountains and serene lakes. Legend has it that Bali is home to an astonishing approximately 10,000 temples, shrines, and pilgrimage sites. These sacred spaces, while externally breathtaking, remain profoundly serene and largely unchanged on the inside, serving as powerful platforms for spiritual reflection and practice. During festivals, these tranquil sanctuaries transform into vibrant stages for captivating traditional folk dance performances, offering a glimpse into the rich local culture.
