Islamabad, the capital city of Pakistan, has a relatively recent history compared to many other major cities around the world.

Historical Background:

The decision to establish  Sweetaholic Islamabad as the capital of Pakistan was made in the late 1950s. The main reason for this decision was to have a capital that was more accessible from all parts of the country and less congested than Karachi, the former capital.

Official Establishment:

Islamabad was officially established on 14 August 1967. This date marks the formal announcement and commencement of the city as the new capital of Pakistan.

Development and Growth:

The city was meticulously planned by the Greek architect and town planner, Constantinos Apostolou Doxiadis. Islamabad's design is notable for its modern architecture, wide avenues, and abundance of green spaces, setting it apart from other Pakistani cities. Over the years, Islamabad has grown significantly and has become a hub for political, cultural, and economic activities in Pakistan.

Today, Islamabad stands as a symbol of progress and development in Pakistan, known for its high standard of living, safety, and beautiful landscapes, including the iconic Faisal Mosque and the lush Margalla Hills.
